With her honey-soaked voice singer Sarita is winning accolades from music lovers wherever she performs writes Sanjana Raghuvanshi.
She has found a niche for herself in the field of singing and is doing marvelously well enchanting hindi film music lovers all over the world. Sarita, who also has to her credit the distinction of winning 7 consecutive episodes of Zee TV’S music show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is currently the most wanted artiste on stage. She recently performed in veteran composer Kalyanji’s ‘ Revival Tour’ and regaled the audience rendering timeless melodies in her mellifluous voice in cities like Florida, Los Angeles, New York, Alabama and Georgia. “ It was an awesome experience and I just loved performing in various cities. Sarita was beguiled to the sounds of music right from a tender age. She used to spend hours listening to the radio and humming evergreen compositions of Lata Mangeshkar. “ Though I like all the singers Lataji is my personal favourite. Listening to her songs in itself is a riyaaz for budding singers like me”, she says modestly. Sarita learnt the rudiments of singing under the tutelage of Shree Keshav Kumar Pandey and C L Batham while she was in school and won several awards in inter school competitions. She also makes special mention of Shri Mohinder Jeet Singhji, who gave her a lot of guidance and valuable tips.
Sarita has to her credit more than 900 stage shows in India, Las Vegas, California, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Toronto, Alaska, Sydney, Adeliade, Perth and Dubai. Sarita has also performed with the likes of Kumar Sanu, Shaan, Sonu Nigam and has lent her voice for umpteen private recordings both in Hindi and Marathi. She has sung in regional movies, TV serials and a few hindi films which are in the pipeline. Another hallmark is her amazing repertoire. She renders latest bollywood chartbusters with consummate ease while flawlessly singing immortal compositions composed by legendary music directors like Khemchand Prakash, Anil Biswas, Pankaj Mullick, Naushad, Shyam Sundar, Hansraj Bahal, Husanlal Bhagatram, Roshan, Sajjad Hussain, Vinod, Ghulam Mohammed, C.Ramchandra, S.D.Burman, Vasant Desai, Shankar Jaikishan, O.P.Nayyar. She is also an integral part of music troupe Keep Alive and has been performing consistently since 1998. Sarita also performs regularly with her own music band titled ' Musicolor ' and has been getting tremendous response from music aficionados. Her good looks and gracious stage presence make her a delight to watch. She is working diligently and is aiming high. Sarita is indeed a rising star.
